Modular Spectroscopic Confocal Microscopes
All three product lines use Klar’s modular optical microscope and can operate with any wavelength kit from the near UV to the near IR
All instruments are designed around Klar’s universal modular optical train, a confocal optical microscope with interchangeable (plug-and-play) optical kits, providing users with deep ultraviolet through near infrared sources for photoluminescence and Raman spectroscopy.
Standard microscopes are ideal for the individual user seeking spectra from their materials. “Where are the peaks? What’s the relative intensity of the peaks? What’s the bandgap?” Entry-level pricing for a standard system with a visible PL kit is about $22K.
The Mini Pro microscope performs scanning up to 25 mm x 25 mm and uses autofocus to capture precise spectra from a two-dimensional sample region. Features include targeted re-scanning of interesting regions, and multifunctional scanning using PL and Raman kits to scan and rescan an area. The instrument ships with a user-friendly operating system, a GPU computer, and GPU-based fitting software. This system is ideal for shared measurement labs, where multiple users may each require a different excitation wavelength for their material. Wavelength changeover takes under five minutes. Entry level systems with a 532 nm kit are priced under $110K.
Klar’s Premium microscope system has the same features as the Mini Pro but scans larger areas, 150 mm x 150 mm. These instruments are designed to accommodate additional measurement hardware, including thermal stages, probe trips, pressure cells, and other measurement hardware. An entry-level 532 nm system is priced under $140K.
